The Cedarwood EP is now available on Bandcamp!
Sometime in 2007, Stone Gossard invited me down to the studio for 4 days of recording. The group was Stone, Pete Droge, Lonnie Marshall and Shawn Smith (me). Maybe it was 3 days, I can't quite remember. I was the singer, Lonnie played bass, Stone and Pete played guitars as well as sharing drum duties. I played drums on one. Stone brought in the music and then we all added our parts as we recorded. I wrote all the vocal melodies and lyrics. It was very organic and if memory serves, one of the more enjoyable recording sessions I've ever been a part of. This group of songs, these mixes, are what I walked out of the studio with after our session. They haven't been touched since.

All Hail the "Crown of Thorns"! Back in winter 2000, Shawn was recording a solo album at Avast! studios...he never released it because he had second thoughts about whether or not it was good enough. This 12-string acoustic version of "Crown of Thorns" was intended for that album. The song was later issued in 2003 on a bonus cd that accompanied the first 50 orders of Shawn's Shield of Thorns album.

Shawn has just recorded a new solo song and will be delivering it digitally asap! Pigeonhed's "lost" album is nearing completion - all tracks have been remixed! Down the line...Shawn will be heading to Belgium this winter to once again play with Arsenal!

Good Cop Public Relations has just issued a press release noting that there will be an impressive amount of BRAD music coming between now and the release of their 5th studio album, slated for January 2012. Highlights include: "Waters Deep," which can be downloaded for FREE right now at the Brad website, followed by two new songs on November 25th, to be released on limited edition 7” vinyl, in celebration of Record Store Day.
