Shawn Smith's live solo sets had always comprised of just the man himself, a guitar and a piano/keyboard. The Diamond Hand was initially conceived of in 2005 to play Shawn's solo material as a full band. It wasn't long before a new album's worth of material was ready to go! Musically, this beautful album forms a perfect companion piece to Shield of Thorns. Released digitaly in 2007, the album saw it's first hardcopy release in 2008.
