Shawn Smith's solo debut, Let It All Begin, was released in 1999. Shawn has released four studio albums, an EP, and a seven-volume digital boxed set collecting unreleased material and demos.

Artists appearing throughout Shawn's solo catalog include Stone Gossard (Pearl Jam), Pete Droge, Thaddeus Turner (Maktub) and Happy Chichester (Howlin' Maggie).

Shawn has also made appearances on other artists' albums; the most frequent collaborators include Greg Dulli (Twilight Singers/Afghan Whigs) and Arsenal.
